“One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. A bit pricey but completely worth it. The hotel blends into the landscape, built around small woods and ponds, and feels very open. Might be tough for non-Japanese speakers, as I think the staff only speak Japanese, but that actually added to the authentic experience. We had dinner in-house and it was delicious and enormous — I could barely finish it despite a big appetite.”

9Verified guest

“The food was outstanding and we loved having the river right beside us. A lovely traditional old house with a relaxing Japanese spa.”

9Verified guest

“An honest, traditional ryokan. True Japanese values.”

“The place is steeped in history — staying here feels like being in a museum. Dining is well above average, so don't miss the in-room breakfast or dinner. Our room attendant was unforgettable: extremely helpful, cheerful, with a great sense of humor and very attentive. The onsen met our expectations.”

9Verified guest

“Beautiful room, delicious food, relaxing spas, and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere — you could hear the river.”
